What a Trustpilot widget costs
Trustpilot calls its widgets TrustBoxes. Which ones you can use depends on your plan.
| Plan | Price per domain | Widgets |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Review Collector only: invites reviews, shows no score |
| Starter | $99 a month, billed yearly, for businesses up to $5M revenue | 2: Review Collector and Micro Review Count |
| Plus | $319 a month, billed yearly | 10 |
| Premium | $799 a month, billed yearly | 21 |
| Enterprise | On request | 23 |
In other words: on the Free plan you can ask for reviews on your site, but not show your score with an official widget. Showing it takes a paid plan, and the choice of widgets grows with Plus and Premium.
Prices and widget counts from Trustpilot’s pricing page and help center, checked on 12 October 2026. Trustpilot may change them.
Review Badges or an official TrustBox?
Both put your Trustpilot rating on your product page. They work differently.
| Official TrustBox | Review Badges snippet | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Paid plan for widgets that show your score, from $99 a month billed yearly | No subscription |
| Your rating | Live from Trustpilot, always current | Entered by you, updated by you |
| What it shows | Depends on the widget: score, stars, review count, reviews | Label (e.g. Excellent) and stars, linked to your Trustpilot page |
| Look | Trustpilot’s templates | Your background, border, corners, shadow and text color |
| Google rating | Not included | Optional, rotating with your Trustpilot rating |
| Trustpilot’s brand guidelines | Official widget | Not an official widget (see below) |

Stars and label
Stars in half steps and the label (Excellent, Great, Average…) follow from your rating, on Trustpilot’s own scale.
Linked to your profile
A click opens your Trustpilot review page, so buyers can read every review there.
Trustpilot and Google
Show both ratings in one badge that rotates, with arrows and your own interval.
Your look
Background, border, corner style, shadow and text color. The default text color follows Trustpilot’s.
In the buy box

How to add Trustpilot to Shopify
The official way and the snippet way, and where the rating works best.
The official way: Trustpilot’s Shopify app or TrustBox code
Trustpilot has a Shopify app that sends review invitations and adds TrustBox widgets to your theme. Which widgets you can use depends on your Trustpilot plan; on the Free plan it’s the Review Collector. On a paid plan you can also paste a TrustBox’s code into a Custom Liquid block next to your buy button.
The snippet way
Set up the Review Badges snippet once with your rating and link, paste it into your product page, and update the number when your score changes. No Trustpilot subscription, but no live data either, and it isn’t one of Trustpilot’s own widgets.
Where a rating works best
- Right under the add-to-cart button. That’s where buyers look for a reason to trust you, not in the footer.
- Linked to your profile. A rating buyers can check is worth more than one they have to take on faith.
- Exactly as on Trustpilot. Show the score your profile shows today, and change it when it changes.
- Next to your promises. Combine it with your returns and payment badges: see Shopify trust badges.
Before you use it
Not live. The badge shows the TrustScore you enter. It doesn’t connect to Trustpilot, so keeping it accurate is up to you.
Not an official Trustpilot widget. Trustpilot’s Legal Brand Guidelines list unauthorised widgets and static images of the TrustScore as misuse, and Trustpilot says it acts against misuse. Whether you use the badge is your decision.
Not affiliated.Ecom & Co. isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by Trustpilot. Trustpilot’s name and logo belong to Trustpilot.
Questions, answered
Is the Trustpilot widget free?
Trustpilot’s Free plan includes one widget, the Review Collector, which asks visitors to write a review but doesn’t show your score. Widgets that show your TrustScore or stars come with paid plans, from $99 a month billed yearly. The Review Badges snippet shows your rating without a Trustpilot subscription, but it isn’t an official Trustpilot widget.
How much does Trustpilot cost?
According to Trustpilot’s pricing page (October 2026), per domain and billed yearly: Starter $99 a month (for businesses up to $5M in revenue, 2 widgets), Plus $319 a month (10 widgets), Premium $799 a month (21 widgets), and Enterprise on request.
Can I customize a Trustpilot widget?
Official TrustBoxes are Trustpilot’s own templates, and the choice of templates grows with your plan. With the Review Badges snippet you set the background, border, corners, shadow and text color yourself.
Does the badge update automatically?
No. You enter your current TrustScore in the editor, and the stars and label follow from it. When your score on Trustpilot changes, update the number in your theme. Official TrustBoxes update themselves.
Is this allowed by Trustpilot?
Trustpilot’s Legal Brand Guidelines ask businesses to show their TrustScore and star rating with Trustpilot’s own resources, and list unauthorised widgets and static images of the TrustScore as misuse. The Review Badges snippet isn’t a Trustpilot widget: it shows the rating you enter. Read the guidelines and decide whether it fits your situation.
Can I show Google and Trustpilot ratings together?
Yes. Choose “Both” as the review source, and the badge rotates between your Google rating and your Trustpilot rating, with arrows and your own interval.
What does it cost?
You can customise the snippet without an account. Copying the code needs a free account, which comes with 2 credits and no card. After that you top up credits when you need them: no subscription, and credits never expire.
Are you affiliated with Trustpilot?
No. Ecom & Co. isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by Trustpilot. The prices and rules on this page are taken from Trustpilot’s own website, and the links go there.
